The Eastern Long Island Police Pipes & Drums [ELIPPD] have been in existence since 1990. We are comprised mostly of Law Enforcement officers from the five easternmost townships in Suffolk County on Long Island, NY. We currently have a membership of approximately 50 people spanning an area from the Bronx to East Hampton. Any Law Enforcement Officer, active or retired, can become a member of the ELIPPD. Civilians are also welcome, provided that the current civilian membership does not exceed 50%. If you would like to know more about our band, send us some email.

 

The ELIPPD provides piping services for all occasions including:

Weddings Parades
Receptions Birthdays
Anniversaries Formal Occasions
Wakes Fund Raisers
Funerals Political Functions

 

Band Profile

Practices and performances year round.

Practices Monday nights, 7-10 pm at
Knights of Columbus Hall, Hampton Bays, New York.

Number of active Pipers: ~ 30
Number of active Drummers: ~ 20

The band was formed in 1990 as the
Southampton Town Police Emerald Society Pipes & Drums.

The band wears the MacIntyre tartan in honor of an early benefactor
who provided us with the funds to put the band on the street in a proper uniform.

The band provides uniforms and accessories to all active members.
[Members purchase their own instruments.]

We teach piping and/or drumming to members at no cost.

The band was upgraded to the Grade 4 competition level beginning in the 2002 season.
